![]() It'll be $4 for air conditioned taxi and $15 for the beach, includes beach chairs, bathrooms and showers, wi-fi, and no seaweed. The taxi driver said, "Of course, no problem. We had to say "no" so many times! Shop owners weren't very friendly and some were even rude, but one kind one helped us navigate our way out to the taxi area. Many of the store fronts were trying to hand out some kind of moisturizer. The cruise port is a busy place, and you can find yourself walking in circles trying to get out of there to the taxi area. ![]() We planned to get off the ship, tour the cruise port then go to Playa Mahuhual. I paid twice what it is worth and they originally wanted double what I paid which would have been way too much for a thin white gold chain. When I arrived home, I got a magnifying glass and discovered that the stamp is 975 VJ which is a silver mixed with another element. Considering they are at the port, I hoped they were vetted and reputable to work with. ![]() I tried to see the stamp but couldn’t because it’s so small on the clasp. I broke a gold chain and decided to buy a new one. I may do that next time.Īt the port, DO NOT BUY JEWELRY FROM JOY GALILEA BACALAR or any other jewelry store. There is a pool at the port which is accessible with the purchase of a drink. Purchased hand painted cover ups from one of the vendors and she asked for a tip. Came very close to getting a massage on the beach but the table was falling apart. Must take cash because they do a serious up charge for credit card purchases. There really wasn’t much to see on the city tour and most of what was discussed was political. I took one of the cruise excursions which include a city tour and beach time. ![]() After that we walked around a bit more and made our way back to the ship. We shared a nice sized cup with like 4 different flavors and it was pretty good. The vendors were just too much! Back in port we decided to get some Gelato at the cute little Gelato shop. Hubby bought 1 thing, we finished our drinks fast and went back to port. Immediately we had a vendor in our face every 30 seconds trying to sell us something. Then we were led to loungers and ordered 1 drink each, and told them no tab we will pay when we get them. They said okay we will do it for $20, so we both got our massages and paid them $25 each. I told them we will just walk down to Krazy lobster because they do $20 for an hour long massage and I pulled up a screenshot I took from their page to prove it. We asked about massages and they told us $25 for 30 minutes or $45 for an hour. They pointed out Krazy Lobster and started walking us to loungers. Anyway where we ended up, they tried to tell us was also owned by the owners of Krazy Lobster. The driver was not in the van when they said they only had $20 and didn't know how they'd get back. However, the cab driver chose to listen to the 3 younger passengers who they added to the cab and take us to some place next door to it so beware of that. We found the taxi area and asked to go to Krazy Lobster because we heard about the $20 massages. There are of course a lot of shops and stands full of merchandise. The pool is huge and has a swim up bar, but we didn't get in. The flamingos are nice to see, as well as the natives pole routine. The port area alone had so much going on. This was our 1st time getting off the ship in Costa Maya.
